A downloadable game for Windows

Movement is your weapon. The infection is the arena.

You are WARD-7, an engineered antibody-like immune sentinel deployed inside a host whose defenses are collapsing. There is no gun. Enter the swarm, draw a living binding membrane around the infection, and make it back to your own filament before the pathogens overwhelm you.

Contain, don't shoot

Hold the membrane control while moving to draw a binding filament through living tissue. Release to seal the shape: pathogens caught inside are lysed, while loose virions are recycled into precious membrane reserve.

Larger containments can neutralize an outbreak in a single decisive sweep—but longer paths consume more reserve and leave WARD-7 exposed. Every seal is a choice between control, efficiency, and risk.

Evolve your immune response

Choose from three antibody classes, then express a new Adaptation after every contained outbreak. Extend your membrane, trigger complement cascades, accelerate through cytoplasmic flow, form protective barriers, or turn high-risk response chains into a scoring engine.

Temporary Immune Factors appear inside the tissue, creating brief tactical surges without replacing the permanent choices that define each run.

Descend through the host

Fight across nine escalating outbreaks, from the Entry Site through the Vascular Mesh and into the Marrow Core. Eight pathogen phenotypes pursue, fire, charge, divide, orbit, erupt, and armor themselves before three multi-phase Prime Strains test everything your response has become.

Complete the Immune Response to unlock two specialized antibody classes and Endless Infection, an escalating seeded remix built for survival and score chasing.

  • A complete three-tissue campaign plus an escalating endless mode
  • Three multi-phase Prime Strains and eight distinct pathogen phenotypes
  • Twenty-one multi-rank Adaptations and three antibody classes
  • Temporary in-outbreak Immune Factors
  • Seeded runs, response chains, grades, local records, and statistics
  • A replayable interactive tutorial
  • Keyboard, mouse, and controller support with full remapping
  • Native 16:9 and ultrawide presentation without stretching
  • Reduced-motion, flash, shake, contrast, speed, and membrane-drain options
  • Original procedural visuals, shaders, animation, music, and synthesized sound
  • No telemetry, accounts, internet connection, or third-party login

Controls

  • Move: WASD / arrow keys, or hold Left Mouse to steer
  • Draw membrane / seal: hold Right Mouse or Space, then release
  • Dash: Left Shift
  • Pause: Escape
  • Fullscreen: F11
  • Controller: left stick or D-pad to move, A to contain, B to dash, Start to pause

Both mouse-and-keyboard styles work at the same time. Use direct WASD movement with Right Mouse containment, or hold Left Mouse to steer toward the pointer while using Space to contain.

Accessibility and display

CELL//WARD includes full input remapping, independent volume controls, reduced motion, screen-flash and camera-shake toggles, high contrast, membrane toggle behavior, controller rumble, pathogen-speed assistance, and membrane-drain assistance.

The authored 16:9 containment field remains centered and unstretched at every aspect ratio. On 21:9 and 32:9 monitors, the living tissue backdrop expands into the additional space. Windowed, borderless, exclusive fullscreen, VSync, common ultrawide presets, and native resolutions through 5120×2160 are supported.
